Nestled within the grounds of our home, guests have access to a stunning swimming pool (available during the summer months) and a stylish outdoor area with a barbecue, dining, and lounge space, perfect for alfresco meals and lazy afternoons. The property also features expansive parkland, lush gardens, and a secluded woodland, all enclosed within a historic park wall, inviting you to unwind in nature.
Both gîtes offer a perfect escape in a peaceful setting, with access to all shared outdoor spaces. Whether you're looking for a romantic retreat, a family getaway, or a relaxing break with friends, Manoir Gaillard provides a unique and welcoming home away from home.
The large new pool is surrounded by cypress trees, terraces, a south facing pergola with beautiful climbers and flowers and a loggia with double barbeque for entertaining. The lawn from the pool slopes gently southwards to several hectares of woodland of ancient box trees, yew, oak and cedars with its own mini-ecosystem of red squirrels, deer and an abundance of birds all enclosed within a limestone park wall. The gardens include an orchard full of late summer fruit and lots of fun for adventurous kids to play in the woods. The property is totally secure and safe for children and pets to run around.
The adjoining rolling countryside is scattered with sleepy villages and Romanesque churches with long open country lanes and farms straight out of a Martin Walker novel and provide a perfect opportunity for walking, cycling, bike rides or touring in an old timer. The magnificent restored castle at Villebois-LaVallette is 15mins away while the charming towns of Brantome and Aubeterre are nearby with canoeing and sightseeing along with numerous excellent restaurants and bars. Perigueux is 50mins away with its spectacular cathedral and ancient city. In mid-September Angouleme holds its famous Ramparts race for vintage Bugattis and 1920s cars.
